Dutch Sports Tech Meets Italian Excellence: Usono Joins Trade Mission to Northern Italy

Usono Joins Trade Mission to Northern Italy
This week, Usono participated in the Dutch Trade Mission on Sports to Northern Italy. It was a dynamic three-day journey through Bologna, Turin and Milan. Organized by the Embassy and Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Italy. Representing Usono were CEO Victor Donker, Football and Sports representative Bruno Nascimento and Italian Sales Rep Vito Reale. Together, they explored new opportunities, strengthened existing partnerships and showcased Usono’s innovation in dynamic ultrasound imaging.

Day 1 in Bologna: From Conferences to Campus
The mission kicked off in Bologna, where Victor and Vito finally visited the renowned Isokinetic Campus  & Clinic, after attending four of their international conferences over the years. The warm welcome by the Della Villa family (Laura, Stefano, Marco, Francesco) and the entire Isokinetic team made the visit truly memorable. As the medical partner of Bologna FC, Isokinetic continues to set the standard in sports rehabilitation and performance.

The group also visited iconic sports venues including the Virtus Arena, Paladozza, and Bologna FC’s stadium, engaging in valuable networking and knowledge exchange. It was in the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara where Vito delivered an excellent Italian pitch to a local audience.

Day 2 in Turin: Innovation and Inspiration
In Turin, while Vito and Bruno visited the Allianz Stadium, Victor was welcomed at Isokinetic Torino by Dott. Fabrizio Tencone in a stunning clinic housed in a classic building. Complete with a pool, outdoor pitch and ultrasound equipped exam rooms.

At Torino FC’s training ground, Victor met with Dott. Paolo Minafra and physio Alessandro Pernice. This was a long awaited visit after our first deal with the club two years ago. The dynamic trio of our Dutch, Brazilian and Italian colleagues also toured Palavela, the ice skating arena, and the Inalpi Arena, currently being transformed for the ATP Finals.

A highlight was the visit to CUS Torino, where Vito delivered another passionate pitch to an audience of. The scale and structure of university sports facilities at CUS, reminiscent of college sports in the US offered valuable insights and inspiration for the Dutch sports ecosystem.

Day 3 in Milan: Wrapping Up with Momentum
The final day in Milan included sightseeing at the Duomo, Milano Cortina shop, and Sforzesco Castle, followed by a visit to the brand new Isokinetic Milan clinic, hosted by Giulia Gilberti and Dott. Luca Francesco Felli.

The team then explored the Velodrome stadium, a multifunctional venue for rugby, American football, track cycling and enjoyed a networking lunch on site. The working day finished with a meeting at the Italian headquarters of our partner GE HealthCare for a productive meeting with the local ultrasound sales team, strengthening the collaboration around ProbeFix and their ultrasound portfolio.

The official Trade Mission was followed up with a visit to San Siro Stadium, where Victor, Bruno and Vito attended Inter vs Fiorentina. A perfect fitting end to an inspiring week.

Bonus: Swiss Connection
After the mission, and some more good meetings in Milan, Victor continued his journey to Lugano FC, one of Usono’s customers, for an exciting meeting with Luis Suarez, Massimo Zanovello and Javier Franco. The visit coincided with a thrilling Swiss Super League match against Luzern, adding another layer of energy to the week. The game ended in a 2-0 win for Lugano! Great atmosphere with passionate supporters. Most important: Before the match Victor had a great meeting with the medical team, who presented very promising and interesting findings from the player rehab with ProbeFix Dynamic! Stay tuned!
