Usono, located on the High Tech Campus Eindhoven, has received an investment from MSB de Medici, the innovative and entrepreneurial partnership of independent medical specialists who mainly work in the Máxima Medical Center in Veldhoven/Eindhoven.
Usono is the developer of the ProbeFix, a medical accessory that allows cardiologists and sonographers to scan the heart of a patient without manually holding the ultrasound probe. The Dutch medtech company enjoys a lot of interest in their ultrasound accessory that was demonstrated during EuroEcho-Imaging, the largest echocardiography congress in the world. In Milan, ProbeFix was demonstrated to hundreds of cardiologists together with Philips equipment.
It is a very promising sign that a local hospital supports the still young company in their commercial phase. The CEO of Usono, Benjamin Tchang, proudly clarifies “We are extremely proud that medical specialists have so much faith and trust in our technology and business. With this investment we can grow further and bring ProbeFix to even more users in Europe “. Maxima Medical Center has been working with Usono for some time, in for example a study led by UMC Utrecht. For an international publication the applicability of ProbeFix for the so-called stress echo was used. For this, continuous and better reproducible images were made during exercise on a bike, something that would not be possible without ProbeFix.
Usono was one of the first startups in the Health Innovation Campus in Veldhoven. Michael van Dusseldorp, financial director at MSB de Medici knows Benjamin and his colleagues Victor Donker and Jori Verbeek from the beginning and is impressed by the great achievements of Usono with only limited resources. “It is unbelievably what Usono achieved in 2 years and we are therefore convinced that our investment will accelerate their growth even more”.
Usono, which was chosen by Innovation Origins and Philips as the most promising startup of Eindhoven, is still looking for more growth capital in the near future. The commercial focus for 2019 is on conquering the German market, where more ambassadors, reference centers and publications are essential.
