Meet Mara Geraerts: Our new Q&R Director
Behind every meaningful innovation lies a strong foundation of quality, safety, and expertise. That’s why we’re proud to introduce Mara Geraerts, our Q&R Director. Mara (46) lives in Eersel, close to the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven, together with her husband Jos and their 13-year-old daughter Bente. With over two decades of experience in the medical device and pharmaceutical industry, she brings a wealth of knowledge that will help us continue to deliver safe, effective, and impactful ultrasound solutions.

From Mechanical Engineering to Medical
InnovationMara holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and has spent more than 20 years working in highly regulated healthcare environments. For the past 15 years, she built her expertise at Royal Philips, where she held various roles in quality assurance.Her career has always been centered around one key goal: ensuring that medical technologies meet the highest standards of safety and performance, so they can truly make a difference in people’s lives.
A New Chapter at Usono
After a major restructuring at Philips, Mara was ready for a new step, one that would allow her to broaden her impact.“At Usono, I can work across the full spectrum of quality assurance and regulatory affairs. That’s what makes this role so exciting,” she shares. Having recently completed her regulatory affairs certification, Mara is eager to apply her knowledge in a fast-moving, innovative environment. “And of course,” she adds with a smile, “it’s really cool what Usono does.”
Strengthening Quality in Dynamic Ultrasound
As Q&R Director, Mara plays a key role in ensuring that our products remain safe, compliant, and effective while we continue to innovate in the field of dynamic ultrasound.Her work supports our mission: helping clinicians better understand the body in motion and make smarter decisions through functional imaging.
The first days
Mara’s first day already reflected what makes the team unique. “I absolutely enjoyed my first day. There was a company-wide meeting, and I could immediately connect with many colleagues. It was such a warm welcome.”It’s this combination of expertise and collaboration that drives continuous progress
